“Feud Escalates: Bill Haney’s Bold Stance Sparks Showdown with Mayweather!”
Bill Haney, father and trainer of boxing prodigy Devin Haney, has once again stirred the pot with bold claims targeting none other than the legendary Floyd Mayweather. In a recent podcast appearance on Boss Talk 101, Haney Sr. doubled down on his earlier assertions, challenging Mayweather to step into the ring with Devin to prove his point.
Bill said, “The Mayweather era—that’s over with man. It’s the Devin Haney era.” He then added, “Floyd ain’t never [done] what Devin did at 25. ‘Tank’ ain’t [done] it; nobody else ain’t [done] it. Listen, y’all [are] just scared to say it.”
Haney’s fiery remarks stem from his belief that the era of Mayweather dominance has passed, making way for the rise of Devin Haney. He adamantly insists that Devin’s accomplishments at the age of 25 surpass those of Mayweather and other contemporaries. With just days remaining until Devin’s showdown with Ryan Garcia, Haney Sr. is unapologetic in his pursuit of recognition for his son’s prowess.
Devin’s father simply said, “If I’m lying, punch me in the mouth or put him in the ring with Devin and prove me wrong. Whoever that may be, whoever your favorite fighter is [because] we take on the world.”
“[We’ve] done stuff that Floyd hasn’t done, and that’s become undisputed. And then, go and defend it again to put that stamp on.”
In a move that further escalates tensions, Haney Sr. challenges Mayweather to release sparring footage of his sessions with Devin, countering claims that Devin was dominated by Gervonta Davis. This bold request adds fuel to the fire, intensifying the feud between the Haney camp and Mayweather.
Bill said, “In order to stamp it, you got to stick around; you got to hang around that block to make sure [it’s] yours before you turf hop.”
As the boxing world awaits the outcome of Haney’s bout against Garcia, Haney Sr.’s provocative statements have set the stage for a potential showdown of words—or even fists—between himself and Mayweather. With emotions running high and stakes escalating, the spotlight on Haney vs. Garcia only grows brighter, drawing in fans and critics alike with anticipation for the clash both in and out of the ring.
Bill said, “It ain’t going to work, Floyd. He should’ve [shown] the sparring video of him and Devin while he’s showing all those sparring videos… It was like Floyd was looking in the mirror when I’m talking. It was before the Conor McGregor fight when he finally decided that he could no longer be in there boxing with no real fighters.”
